Search engines, you…

…are my heros. Especially Google.

As someone who recently graduated from college (June 2008) and became employed shortly after (August 2008, by choice), the fact that I have Google and other search engines available to me make my life so much easier when developing software.

There are so many different solutions out there on the web that are at the tip of my finger and when I get stuck not understanding a subject or unable to figure out a solution; I’m so very thankful that all I need is to do a search.

This is my thanks and shout out to free search engines!

Today has been a pretty normal day. Woke up, got ready, picked up Manfred, B.S.ed a great deal, arrived a work, etc. etc.

The big difference with today vs. any other day, is that I’m going to do something I have never done before after work.

I’m not going to say what it is because I want to make sure I go through with it before actually stating that I’m going to do it.

Quite exciting.

In other parts of today, at work (IGT), I was able to finish up merging the changes I have done for one of our services into the build branch so that I can take the DLLs that I’ve built and send them over to another engineer. Once the database script is ran to get the new tables inserted, and the new DLLs in place, then I’ll be able to find out if my changes do what they are suppose to do (add and retrieve items from the database in one service, and send them back to the calling service (UI) so that we can see the pretty new items).

Always nice when things work.

Moved web host to JustHost

JustHost has some great deals for hosting and gives UNLIMITED everything just about.  My domain is currently being transferred from 1and1 to JustHost.  Currently my DNS through 1and1 is pointing to JustHost to handle my new domain hosting.

So far things have been great. Just got my blog uploaded to blog.gilldev.net and will be creating www.gilldev.net to handle my consulting business.

So if you need any help, please contact me and I’ll see what I can do to help.

Thanks,

Jason
